Fog Signals

Utilizing the superior Universal Acoustic Power Amplifier, Essi-patented FaradicWave omni-directional fog signals are durable, efficient and solid. With 0.5 to 2 nautical miles (audible equivalent) capacity, FaradicWave fog signals emit a 360-degree beam of sound in the horizontal plane. Requiring no heavy lifting equipment, they are also easy to install and maintain.

APPLICATION | Standard applications include marking of artificial islands and fixed structures, oil/gas platforms, drilling rigs, barges, buoys, channels, bridges and docks. And now outfitted with the capability to store and transmit operational data, FaradicWave fog signals provide enhanced support through Essi’s remote monitoring system.

DESIGN | The smallest in their class, the 2nm (Class A) and .5nm (Class B) fog signal amplifiers are approved by the United States Coast Guard as well as Factory Mutual (FM) and C&D (hazardous) approved.

  • FaradicWave (FW/6) Fog Signal—2nm (nautical mile)

A very durable two nautical mile (audible equivalent) omni-directional fog signal emitting a 360-degree beam of sound in the horizontal plane.

  • FaradicWave (FW/3) Fog Signal—.05 nm (nautical mile)

A very durable one half (0.5) nautical mil (audible equivalent) omni-directional fog signal emitting a 360 degree beam of sound in the horizontal plane.

  • FaradicWave (FW/1) Fog Signal—.05 nm (nautical mile)

A very durable and reliable one half (0.5) nautical mile (audible equivalent) omni-directional fog signal emitting a 360-degree beam of sound in the horizontal plane.

  • Universal Acoustic Power Amplifer (UAPA)

The Essi UAPA was a part of the foundation for the inception of Essi. After several years and many attempts for the perfect product, the amplifer was designed and patented as a direct replacement fog signal power amplifer for most existing fog signals.

  • Smart Field Monitoring

Minimizing the need for dedicated personnel to physically inspect remote devices, Smart Field monitoring reduces your overall cost, exposure and liability.

Through alerts sent via email, text or voice, our customers are immediately aware of any device outage, low voltage, fault, malfunction or incident of non-compliance.

    Monitored data includes:
    • Battery voltage
    • Lantern Operational Status (on/off state)
    • Fog signal operational status (2 hour delay, horn muted)
    • Faults and malfunctions (driver failure)

Essi’s proprietary Smart Field technology collects and transmits operational data from our BrightStar Class A 3nm-5nm lanterns and.05 or 2 nautical mile fog signals via an SSL secured interface.
